Clocks reported stolen in Smarden burglary
It was reported that a burglary had taken place between 9.30am and 3.10pm on Friday 31 March 2017 at a house in Monks Hill. Two clocks were stolen during the incident and officers have issued photos in the hope that someone may recognise the missing timepieces.
One is described as a German Lenzkirch wooden clock (picture above) which dates back to the early 20th century and is about 12 inches high. The second clock is described as being made of brass.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Dennis Webster said: ‘The clocks are of sentimental value to the owner and we would ask people to get in touch if they have been offered the opportunity to buy them. ‘Also, if anyone has any information about the burglary, or saw anything suspicious in the area, we would ask them to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/12683/17.’
